Missouri requires a vehicle inspection within 30 days of purchase or residency. Some exclusions may apply depending on the model year of your vehicle. Speak with a member of our team and we'll help you with the process.
Missouri mandates that most vehicles receive a safety inspection once every two years unless the vehicle is within its first 5 model years or meets another exemption rule. Residents living in certain areas are also required to get smog and emissions testing in addition to the safety inspection. As of writing, Greene County only requires the safety inspection.
If you don't get an inspection by your due date, vehicle registration will be denied. For this reason, it's recommended that you don't wait around when your renewal notice arrives.
The Safety Inspection includes checking your: headlights, turn signals, horn, brake system, steering mechanism, all window glass, windshield wipers, and more.

Passing: After your vehicle passes the MO state inspection, you'll be able to complete your registration. Our car inspection station will provide you with a new windshield sticker and an official report certifying you have passed. A passing inspection is only good for 60 days after inspection date, so make sure to register your vehicle shortly after.
Failing: You'll receive a report that shows why the inspection didn't pass. You will need to have your vehicle repaired by a Missouri Recognized Repair Technician and re-tested. You are entitled to one free re-inspection at the station you originally tested at within 20 business days (not including weekends and holidays) of the date paid.
